C and D!

We started out C with a bang by going to the circus!  Sam was transfixed by the elephants and kept asking for them throughout the rest of the show after their part was over.  Anna was in awe of of the acrobats.  She's always been our tumbler- girl though, so I'm not surprised.  She loves flips, hanging upside down, and learned how to somersault on her own months ago.  I didn't take many photos, but I did take one to remember our trip.

We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar (one of our favorite books), a few other caterpillar books and made our own caterpillars with handprints.

Sam and Anna wanted to paint more, so we drove cars though paint to make tire tracks.  (Sam wanted to keep going and going!)

We sorted circle stickers by color... and then reused the stickers for our dot letter C and c.

We went to the Children's Museum on one hot and muggy day.  Check out the castle we made!

We explored cloud dough (8 cups flour and 1 cup baby oil: both things we had already in the house)

And then made chocolate chip cookies!  The next day we ate one for snack.

We used chalk outside!

And we played a lot in our craigslist find- a new-to-us crab sandbox.  Just a happy coincidence that our sandbox shape started with our letter, though!

For D, we read lots of books about dinosaurs and ducks, and then went to go feed some ducks by the river (one of our favorite things to do lately).

We made duck handprints.

We used dot stickers again for D and d and made pictures with dot markers.

We drew on our art easel.

Then we played dress up with some things I found at a garage sale!

And finally, Sam and Anna ended the week with a Day with Daddy- their wonderful daddy took them out to eat for breakfast Saturday morning so this mama could sleep in.  Then the three of them went to the Lowes Build and Grow clinic to put together vehicles.  After that, they went to our favorite playground and ended up grocery shopping before coming home for lunch with me.  After sleeping in, I used my solo time to work on marking baby clothes for a garage sale.

I'm in awe of you. You are so awesomely creative! Might have to steal some of the ideas. I especially like the little dots in the shapes of letters. Keep the good ideas coming so I can steal some more :)
