After getting dressed in the lovely gown and being shown to the room, I was hit with an unexpected Demerol shot. Oh well. At least now I know why I wasn't given Valium to take beforehand. Then after I got on the table, the embryologist came in, gave us a picture of the three we were going to transfer, and put them up on the screen. After the embryologist left for a while, I got a complementary massage from the hospital- which was a nice perk. While I was laying on my side, the masseuse massaged my back, neck and shoulders only for about 30 minutes while I listened to enya in the dimly lit room. It was soooo relaxing and put me in the perfect mindset for what was to come next.
Dr. S came in soon afterwards and the whole process was over quickly in a few minutes. I remember thinking right before the embryos were transferred that this was a moment I will be remembering for the rest of my life- one of those times that you just know to stop and take stock of everything so you can have a perfect memory. The nurse then tipped my bed back and put a pillow under my knees. I was supposed to stay there for two hours (which was no big deal, because remember, my bladder was empty). I dozed, listened to the relaxing music, gazed at the screen a lot, prayed, and shared the moment with Jake. It couldn't have been more perfect (well, except if it has been at home, and for $14,000 less).
We did get a call this morning from the embryologist about the state of the other three embryos. Unfortunately, none of them made it to freeze. So I am sad and disappointed about that. Now all our hope for a 100% biological child rests solely on the embryos in my uterus. I am not afraid to say that twins would make us thrilled (Jake even wore his Minnesota Twins shirt there for good mojo). I am on 3 days of "rest" until Tuesday. After talking to my mom last night, it sounds like she will be coming to visit from Tuesday until Thursday next week, so hopefully that will help pass the time. I only have ONE day done of the TWW and I'm already dying to get to the end. The unknown is really scary and it is taking all of my effort to not "prepare for the worst" and stay in a "hoping for the best" mindset. At least for now, I am PUPO. I've been waiting to be able to say that. :)

Please keep praying for us and that these embryos will snuggle in for a long 9 months... we need your prayers more than ever. Thank you for your support!!!
