Embracing my Inner Girly-Girl

I caved last week.

I am a reformed flower-headband-on-infants-hater. Well, maybe hate is a strong word- I just wasn't a fan of the big flowers (you know, the ones that are the same size as the poor little baby's head) and swore to my husband that I'd never subject Anna to such a thing. Um, yeah... that lasted almost 5 months. I guess after seeing them over and over, I began to feel like Anna's almost bare melon was sadly unadorned at times. Then I began to wonder if a little flower here and there would really make a cute dress look that much more adorable. I ventured over to esty and searched... which sealed my fate. One does not get sucked into the etsy hole without buying or at least lusting over some cute handmade item. I bought 3 flower headbands (and how nice of the store owner: not only did I get one headband free in addition to the 3 I bought, she also sent a little flower hairclip as a bonus which will be waiting until the day that Anna actually has enough hair to hold such a clip).

Amid all the down-in-the-dumps feelings I've had lately, I felt it was time for a little photo shoot pick-me-up. Anna and I embraced our inner girly-girls, and didn't just stop at the flower headbands. I lovingly made a tulle tutu for her the night before and she rocked the tutu with her so-cute headbands. Here is a sampling of some of the 100+ pictures I took. (Seriously. I just kept clicking. Don't worry- many made their way into the recycling bin though!)

Part of the fun of having a girl is dressing her up, right?

adorable!!! if i ever have a girl, she will definitely be subjected to the silly (but adorable) headbands and super girly clothing too. i mean, they'll only let you dress them up for so long-- might as well take advantage while you can!

All great pictures, but that last was is adorable! What a beautiful girl!

If I had a girl I am sure she would be subjected to the same thing. :)

Beautiful! How did you do the last one? Looks like it is in B&W but the headband is in color. I love Etsy, too. I'm a sucker for the little beanie caps with the big flowers on it.

I am not a fan of the big hairbows either but the ones you got for Anna are adorable and not HUGE like the ones I always see on the babies on Sunday morning :) Beautiful pictures, beautiful baby!

The last picture is edited using picnik.com. You can do some really fun stuff on the site (most for free)- turn photos B&W, color enhance, add softened borders, etc.

So incredibly adorable! I love putting frivolous flowers and bows in Lexi's hair, but she doesn't like it so much :)

You held out longer than I did! I seriously thought I could avoid the color pink altogether, rofl! But as it turns out, I like that Kennedy brings out my inner girly-girl. Anna is freaking adorable with those flowers and that tutu!!!

I'm not a fan of the headband either, but yours look GREAT on her! They're very stylish! And that tutu? OMG - I love it!
