The Evolution

The Evolution of my coffee drinking ways:

Pre-TTC:  An occasional cup of coffee.  A once-in-a-while stop at Starbucks for a special treat.

TTC: Limited caffeine intake including pop.

IVF and Pregnancy:  Practically ZERO caffeine.  Not a drop of coffee or pop.

Twin Baby Momma:  Daily cuppa joe in the morning... or two.

Twin Working Full Time Outside the Home Momma: Big mug of coffee before 7 am.  Caffeinated pop at 8 am to help get me through the tired days.  Stops at Starbucks at least once a week before work (not good for the bank account, but better for my productivity!).  Developing a relationship with the Starbucks drive thru dude.  Caffeine withdrawals if the above conditions are not met.

~I may need a 12 step program this summer once school is out!!!

I'm teaching, too.....mother of 16 month old twins! It is hard but amazing how efficient we can be at work so that we don't have to bring any home! And thank goodness for summer!

Haha. I can only imagine. Unfortunately, caffeine makes me all jittery now and I have a hard time sleeping at night if I drink ANY so it's decaf for me. In my pre-TTC days, it was a large Chick-Fil-A coffee followed by a large sweet tea for lunch. And a massive withdrawal headache if I ever skipped that routine. Ugh.

I have somehow kept away from the caffeine even post-pregnancy, but I only had a singleton. If I had twins, I'd probably have become an addict as well. I'm sure you're just dying for summer vacation! Nothing better than 2 months of freedom and uninterrupted twin time! Enjoy!!!

Oh---I make love to two cups of coffee every morning! Headaches if I don't. The caffine helps, but mostly, I just enjoy it. I enjoy that steaming cup of delicious coffee with cream or whole milk---none of that low-fat garbage.

Yesterday I took both girls to the pediatrician by myself. I was a sweaty mess when we left--lots of screaming, and pawing at mama. Miserable!

Anyway--treated myself to a Starbucks frappe while we drove around waiting for the prescription to be filled. Bliss!

Me too! Me too! I was SO good during my pregnancy. And now, I stop every morning on my way to work for coffee. And if I don't get my soda later in the day, I get all jittery. BUT, I don't feel like I need it as much on the weekends, so maybe going cold turkey during the summer will be a really good thing.

Surely, my bank account will think so!

I didn't have a single drop during pregnancy either! Not one drop. I even stayed away from decaf because I knew it still had SOME caffeine in it. Then after the babies were born I was careful because of bfing, but now I am 2-3 cups a morning... and pop has just re-entered my life occasionally at dinner =)
