Our pediatrician called this evening and informed us that Anna's blood sample was negative for Celiac Disease. Thank goodness. I had a really hard time wrapping my head around how that would change her diet and affect every thing we prepared for meals, not to mention how that would affect the rest of her life.
The blood sample, however, did show a low blood count meaning that Anna's iron levels were low. Going forward Anna will be on an iron supplement twice daily to boost her levels. We are also to get as many iron rich foods in her as possible... along with the high calorie, high fat, high protein foods.
We will do a recheck of both her weight and blood iron levels in a month to see if anything we do has made a difference. Meanwhile, I'm on a mission to "fatten up" my little girl, stat!

Good to hear the news!
Very good news!!
that is such good news....hopefully the iron pills will do the trick.
Oh, good, Katie! I'm happy you got good news. You know I have a skinny kid of my own and I have tried everything to fatten him up and he still follows his 5th %ile weight curve very reliably. That fast metabolism will come in handy one day!!
Glad there's no celiac disease! Sorry to hear about the weight issues though. When we were trying to fatten K up at the start, I was really pushing the avocados, bananas and sweet potatoes. She loves pasta and potatoes and meat, so maybe she's getting more calories with that? She fell to 2nd percentile for weight at around 3mo, but once we started solids and exclusively pumping and bottle feeding, she picked right up and shot up to over 90th percentile for weight. I'm still not quite sure how that happened. She does love to eat.
Good luck with stuffing your kids!
So very glad that Celiac Disease was ruled out! Good luck with supplementing her diet and hope she responds well.
