Latest OB Appointment

Today I was able to finally get the H1N1 vaccination. In two weeks, I will be armed against all the H1N1 germy kindergartners I am face to face with every day. Funny enough, I had a little needle anxiety before the shot went in- ME! - The girl who not that long ago got stuck with over 200 needles (many self-inflicted) and then lost count. I guess the break from needle poking has been nicer than I realized.

According to my OB, I am measuring 7 weeks ahead at 26 weeks (for a singleton PG). I also have gained 24 lbs since 6 weeks- that's right, 24 pounds in 13 weeks. I have no idea what my starting weight was, because the IVF bloat messed with my actual pre-PG weight. It is crazy watching that scale creep higher each time I'm at the OB's and seeing numbers that I've never seen before. Besides some gain in my chest, I'd like to think that the rest is all belly. I hope it stays that way. But I'm not weight gain-obsessed- I don't care, as long as it means my babies are healthy and I'm doing the right thing to help them be the healthiest they can be.

Today was my first school day since finding out the genders, so I decided to bring "surprise" cupcakes to school to reveal the genders. In the middle of the cupcakes we piped pink and blue batter (colored with food coloring) so that you had to bite into the cupcakes to find out. I kept it a secret until lunchtime so that the beans couldn't be spilled before then. I thought it was a cute idea- some people cared more than others. Oh well- I thought it was fun, and that's all that matters!

What a clever way to share the sex of your babies! I may have to steal that idea when we finally get pregnant-I love cupcakes and I think it was a super cute way to reveal the sex of the babies! I'm sorry some cared more than others, the ones who didn't care can kiss your butt! :)

You had needle anxiety? That is a little commical considering how many times you have been poked!

Thanks so much for your sweet comment!

Oh, and I love your attitude about the baby weight. Looking at the pictures you have posted, it does look like it is all belly but honestly who cares. You are growing two beautiful babies who are going to be healthy! Enjoy it mama!

What a fun way to present the big reveal!

Glad to hear your are protected from your little petri dishes! (That's what my friend who's a first grade teacher calls her students)

24 lbs doesn't sound bad at all, and from the pictures I've seen you are ALL belly!

Glad to hear everything is going great! The weight gain is insane, huh? I actually measure a full inch more around my belly than last week... It's crazy how fast it's all going, huh?

Such a cute way to reveal the sex! Mmm, now I'm craving a cupcake. That's great that you have gained that weight.. your babies need it and I think you are right on track! :) I'm sure most of it is in the belly too (and boobs). I'm still so very excited for you and your little boy and girl!

I love that idea! I wanted to do something similar for my Bible study but then the baby ended up not behaving so we had to bring orange (Halloween) frosted cookies instead :(

Love how you revealed the genders! What a cute and creative idea. Yay for getting the H1N1 vaccination too- I finally just got mine today. Took forever to hunt that thing down. Oh, and those extra 24 lbs look fantastic on you. Judging by the pics you've posted, you're all belly!

That is sooo adorable!! What a great idea!!

Glad you got the shot. I went ahead and got it too...and I got nervous right before as well! I think because I like giving myself the shots better than having someone else administer them.

Good job on the weight gain!! What are you eating??!!! I need some of that!!! I have a ways to go to catch up!!

And BTW...your weight is ALL in your belly...you are soooo tiny!! Definitely look into getting a belly support band!!
