Last November/December, we enrolled Sam and Anna in their first swimming lessons at 8-9 months old. They loved it. We were a little spoiled because Sam and Anna were the only kids in the 6 month-3 year old group, and we had two instructors between the two children. We decided to sign up for swimming lessons again this fall to keep them familiar with water and I guess extend summer a little longer!
This time, there are a bunch of kids in our parent and child aquatics group, and Sam and Anna are the youngest. Most of the other kids are probably 2 1/2 years old-3 years old. Sam and Anna still have fun, but they are a little more tentative than they were at 8 months old. Neither one likes to float on their back, but they both enjoy floating on their stomachs. Anna is our little water baby this time, and grins or giggles throughout most of our time in the pool. Their favorite part is "jumping" into the pool from the outside ledge, although going up and down out of the water while we sing The Wheels On The Bus is also a bit hit.
We'll probably sign up for the parent and child aquatics class once a year until they are old enough to take swimming lessons without a parent, just to keep them familiar and comfortable in the water during the non-summer months!

This looks like so much fun. I so wish we could do this! The only time a pool close to us offers tot lessons with parents is during hours that David works, and I just can't do both kids by myself. Hopefully soon though! Looks like Sam and Anna had a blast!
Catching up on your posts...
Love the swimming shots! Looks like so much fun!
How AMAZING that they are 19 months already! Crazy how time flies. I always love reading your updates because it's like peeking around the corner and seeing what my kids might be doing next! I can't wait until they start stringing words together.
We did a lot of the organic baby food when ours were smaller, but I do love the idea of having them as a backup for when they don't eat well. I like how a lot of them are veggie/fruit combos with some stuff they would NEVER eat alone, like spinach.
There are also these organic fruit pouches for kids in the grocery section with the applesauces, called Mashups http://www.amazon.com/Revolution-Foods-Organic-Mashups-Squeezable/dp/B002C0POH0
My kids like them a lot. There are a few with veggie/fruit combos.
We are trying desperately for them to eat more meat also. We were even sneaking meat babyfood in with fruit babyfood, but they started rejecting that (can't say I blame them).
They are ALL about peaches in any form, or applesauce, so we've had some luck doing one bite of peaches and one of things like spaghetti with meatballs.
So glad you had a TWO pound weight gain! That's AWESOME!
Looks like a great time!!!
