My mom is visiting for the next three days and will prove to be a good distraction from the waiting, I hope. Because, man, when you are on three days of (bed) "rest," it sure allows for a lot of time to wait, and think, and wait, google all sorts of things like early PG symptoms, successful transfer blast pictures, and beta websites (so, you know, I'm all set for Monday), and wait, obsess, and wait, pray, and wait, talk to my belly, and wait, check blogs, and wait... By the way, here is a really cool website I found yesterday for all the fellow IVFers out there.
I am planning on testing early- mostly because I don't think I can handle those last few hours waiting for The Phone Call that will change my life. I know either way I would be sobbing- and I want to be coherent enough that I can remember what else the nurse says. But when to test; I haven't decided. Monday morning before I leave for the beta? Sunday morning? Saturday morning? Please weigh in with your advice. Jake is planning on taking the day off of work on Monday to go with me and be home for the phone call so I am leaning towards Monday morning- but I just don't know.
What I do know is that I am reserving the right to keep the information to ourselves for at least a little bit. Most people get to relish their own PG news for a little bit (I promise no longer than a few days) and I want at least a little bit of the same experience. I also know that if things go the other way, I will be too devastated to hop on and share with the world right away. So I am asking for your patience until I am ready to post.
*deep breath* four days down. Only a few more to go.

I'm so glad your Mom is coming to stay with you! Great distraction plan! :) I'm keepin' my fingers crossed for you and sending good vibes your way! Let us know - when you're ready. :)
If DH is going to be home on Mon I might wait till then, if I could. What do I know, I'm already caving in on my test date by about two days. Maybe I'm not the one to give advice :)
My beta was on Monday and E convinced me to at least hold off on testing until Saturday. It's tough to tell. You don't want to put yourself through unnecessary dissapointment of you test too early, but it's super freakin' exciting if you get to see even a faint line.
So, so, so hoping this is it for you guys!!!
Can't it just be Monday already??? I'm so ready for you to get your BFP!!
Wow, Monday is right around the corner! If I was going in for a beta, I would test the day before. That way it's not really too early, but you have enough time to let the new sink in - whatever it may be.
Kaite, I really hope this it is for you!
That is totally awesome that Jake is taking the day off on Monday to be with you! You are in my thoughts and prayers! I hope you enjoy your visit with your mom and have the distraction that you need right now. And completely understandable that you would want a few days for yourself come Monday. Wow, just wow!
I would also say Monday - it's possible that you can get a false reading prior to that. And jeez, lady you are killing me by making me wait a couple of days to find out!! But I totally get it, this is your time, your moment to be :) but it's still killing me :) feel free to email me if you want to talk though luckylucyjones@yahoo.com. I'm here for you!!!
I think that waiting until Monday is a good idea. You could test earlier, but A)you would have longer to wait to have results confirmed and B)it gives you plenty of time for the HCG to show in your urine.
I am also really glad that Jake is going to spend the day with you. Derek and I both worked both of the beta days and I wish that I could have been home and him there to share the news with me.
I understand your desire to not post immediately after the results and I will be waiting anxiously for your news.
Have fun with your mom!
Hey Katie, I found these two websites interesting if you are thinking about testing early. The first tells that the hcg injection should leave the body after 14 days and the "normal" levels for single and twins: http://www.advancedfertility.com/earlypre.htm the second site http://www.fertilityplus.org/faq/hpt.html tells how sensitive home pregnancy test are.
Good luck!!!
Thanks for sharing the additional link. I am pretty Google crazy myself right now so the more information, the merrier!
At first I was thrown off by the differences between your link and those I posted earlier. And then it hit me, my site referenced "post hcg" and your's referenced "post ovulation". Wow! What a difference two days makes!
I wouldn't test any earlier than the day before your beta. Oh my gosh, that's so soon! I'm glad Jake is taking the day off on Monday. As much as I would love to hear the news right away, I totally understand wanting to keep it to yourself for a while. Take however long you need, but know that we're all going to be right here, anxiously waiting!! You're almost there, Katie!
