In case you didn't know, NIAW starts April 25th and goes through May 2nd. To celebrate, today, I started an argument I know I have no shot in hell at winning with our insurance reps. It went something like this via email: "Causes no harm, my ass." and "Tell me what physical harm is being treated with V*agra then." and "the CDC considers it a medical condition, why don't you?" Maybe I can get Jake to bake a NIAW cake- or even give me a gift! Hey, why not??? So what are you planning to do for NIAW week?
Now back to That Day in May. I am already dreading it, like any IFer does. For me, it starts well before the cards come out or the ads begin. For me, it starts when I begin planning my lessons. Hmmm... what should we make for That Day's gifts in kindergarten? What should I teach that week about that topic? Twist that knife a little more. I have cute songs we sing, books we read... and we even recognize That Day at our grade-wide concert that always falls on that Friday. Torture, really. But I can gleefully say, it won't be quite so bad this year! Because I have a student teacher! She will be reading the books, singing the songs, and making the cards and gifts. And me, I'll be in my happy place- or locked in the back store room where I can't hear their darn singing. Then the weekend around That Day... I will be at a spa, with my now-I-know-who-my-real-friends-are friend- who needs a little spa happy place time too. I think I will start a yearly tradition, baby or not.

Thanks for your comment on my blog! I am dreading M day this year too. We will have to squeeze in seeing my mom that weekend who lives 3 hours away and then we'll have to go to lunch with my inlaws on that day to celebrate with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law, who happens to have a 7 month old daughter. Ugg.
Spa treatment. Yes. My brain is firmly clamping down and refusing to think about M Day.
I work in a store and we have had displays up for weeks.
Hi, I was going though your old posts, I like your blog.
Anyhow, I saw your concerns about paying for IVF.
I don't know if you have ever heard of Dave Ramsey but my husband and I have had so much success with his program. We paid off five grand in debt in about four months. He has a lot of wonderful budgets.
Also, if you go to my blog there are two budgeting blogs I read daily. Money Saving Mom and Moms Need To Know. Not that I am a Mom, but if I want to be one I have to save my money.
With them I am learning the finer points of couponing and bargain shopping. My grocery bill is 40% lower every week.
I hope that helps and does not feel intrusive. I LOVE budgeting, and saving money. I figured, since we were unlikely to make more money I had to make what we have go farther.
I'm so glad to hear that you are being proactive in dealing with TDWSNBN. I hope you have a wonderful day at the spa!
I'm pretty lucky my mother-in-law offered to let us skip it all together. She's an active reader of my blog...
HUGS!
Katie, I'm so glad you get to spend the dreaded day in a spa. I know you will certainly enjoy it. Hope you have a good rest of your week.
I've already had 2 massages this week...so I go get myself a third. Maybe I'll buy myself flowers, too.
Ugh. Yeah, M-day. Can we just skip that one? I'll be stimming for our first IVF on that day. I think you've got the right idea with the spa day.

I think your M-Day plan is awesome. Get as far away from the "festivities" as possible and pamper yourself. You deserve it.
I'm glad you have a way to avoid some of the onslaught. Head for the spa!
good luck and I hope you do go to the spa.........you deserve it!
