Utterly Overwhelmed- and I'm not even doing injections yet

So the med cache will be delivered tomorrow, to Jake's work. He decided it would be much easier than with the prying eyes and wagging tongues at my work (all those female teachers that love to gossip and create drama, you know?) and I agree, completely. $2,050 later, we are the proud parents of lots of needles. Let the bills begin. There was a little bit of stress involved with returning the company's call though, but it wasn't that bad. The good news is that the amount is $450 less than our RE's estimate sheet! Wonderful! I hope all the estimates are more than the actual costs.

Side note- I did tell Jake that we could charge all the IVF costs to his Cabe.la's card since the money is in our savings and we could just take it out when the statements arrive. I think he's already fantasizing what he can buy with all his points. Hey- if not a baby, at least something good will come out of this, I guess. My vote is for a canoe.

While in the midst of trying to get a delivery date/time set for our meds and playing phone tag, my plan B acupuncture place called and said they had a cancellation for Friday- and I could have the time slot if I wanted. I said yes!(since plan A was a letdown) and then went about trying to figure out how to leave work at 12:30 on Friday. Thank goodness for student teachers is all I have to say about that.

I'm also getting into the thick of end-of-school work: like testing, report cards, record keeping, attempting to get some things ready for fall, figuring out a game plan for packing up and closing out my room... so my mind is spinning and thinking about a gazillion things at once.

*big breath* Man, a nice 3 day weekend will be a great escape.

I think that's a good idea to charge it all on his card just to earn the points. Why not? Hope you have a great weekend!

Yay for getting your meds! It makes the whole thing feel like it’s really happening, doesn’t it? Good luck with getting all of the end of the school year things taken care of during your cycle…I know it’s a stressful time in and of itself, then throw an IVF cycle on top of it! I will be following along during your cycle and hoping for nothing but the best for you!

Good luck! I know it's overwhelming to see all the meds and needles, but it's nice to know that you're moving forward. Injections...sigh...we women are such tough chicks!

I agree that it's a fabulous idea to put it all on the card and get the points! I mean you have to pay all of this out of pocket so you should have some kind of break. It's so exciting that everything is starting to happen. I'm sure it's also overwhelming but you are on your way!!! You no longer have to be at a standstill which is so exciting in itself.

Hopefully, you'll get both a baby and some really cool toy with the points.

Horray for points!!! I've lost count of the Amazon.com rewards I've gotten just by routing our medical bills through my credit card instead of writing a check.

I'm sure it seems overwhelming right now, but think of everything that you have been through already. These steps forward have got to be easier than all the steps back you've seen over the last three years. You can do this. We'll be there with you.

HUGS.

I hope you're doing better today! I can't even imagine how overwhelming this is. Hang in there!

P.S. Have you gotten your Fertility Socks yet?

I've just read your last few posts, and am so sorry that you're feeling overwhelmed. If it makes you feel better, the couple of weeks before starting my cycle were the worst -- once I got into the swing of things, it went away and the whole thing felt sort of eerily normal. I hope you have the same experience -- for me, my imagination was MUCH worse than the reality of the whole experience.

Wishing you the best of luck with this cycle!

Yeah! for things costing less than expected. And what a bonus about the card points! Good luck with everything.

You really are getting quite a following on here! I am glad that the meds have arrived. Our first round the meds didn't get there until the DAY I was supposed to start taking the injections. Talk about freaking out!!! I also think it is a great idea to be paying for everything with the credit card. We use our AmEx. Figured if we don't get a baby, maybe we can go on a vacation, you know?

Good luck with your IVF cycle! Also, looking at your fertility journey... I was wondering what kind of herbal meds have you taken and where did you get them from? What did your RE have to say about the herbal meds?

Way to find that silver lining--even if is with reward points and comes in the shape of a canoe! Good luck with the end of the school year!
