Holy Moly- 1/3 of the way to meet my precious babies. Now I know there's some varying thoughts as to when the 2nd trimester actually starts- but I'm going by development, not gestation or conception. Here's BabyCenter's picture of fraternal twins at 12 weeks:
(BabyCenter only has twin pictures every four weeks, so I'll be able to post another one at 16 weeks)

How far along: 12 weeks!
Total weight gain/loss: Up 6 lbs from 6w5d
Maternity clothes: Gave up on the bella band, wore first and only pair of maternity capris last week. I wish I had more maternity capris, but I'm not willing to buy any.
Sleep: I wish I could reinstate rest time in my kindergarten classroom. For me.
Best moment this week: Being asked by a student if I was having a baby and a parent if I was expecting.
Movement: Aparently a lot, but none that I can feel yet. I think?
Food cravings: Onto my 8th watermelon since the BFP. Or is that 9th? I may have lost count...
Food aversions: I'm anti hamburgers right now.
Gender: I'm going with one of each- or maybe 2 girls. I just feel deep down it isn't two boys.
What I miss: Crazy enough, the the way my flat stomach looked in my work shirts. Never thought I'd say that.
What I am looking forward to: 12 week u/s tomorrow! A cute bump instead of frump.
Milestones: 12 weeks, first maternity clothes, being asked by a parent and student

The clothing issue has been getting more and more difficult. I'm not ready to full on wear maternity bottoms AND tops, and I'm just not comfortable wearing tighter tops that accentuate my bigger-than-most 12 week belly yet. I did wear my one and only pair of maternity capris last week (given to me by a friend) but I refuse to buy capris that I will only get a week or two's wear out of at this point in the year. So I've been crossing my fingers that the weather cools off soon and I can wear maternity pants. The bella bands just aren't cutting it any more- I think I'm simply too big to expect that little bit of stretchy fabric to hold up bottoms that I can't zip and leaves a ridiculously huge gap. Tops-wise, I'm in that hard middle stage where most of my old tops are stretched way too tight to look good (both across my chest and my belly) but maternity tops seem way too early. My co-worker who's in the room next to me is something like 28 weeks and she still wears some non-maternity tops. Of course she has the most adorable bump and I just look frumpy. Sigh. I had enough shirts to make it through 8 work days so far. Now I have a problem figuring out what to wear for the 5 days this week. I *really* don't want to start rewearing clothes again so soon. Argh! Clothing crisis!!!

(Side note: Does any else ever have problems getting paragraph spacing to show up after publishing a post? Does anyone know how to fix this?)

Woo Hoo 12 weeks!!! I can't believe it! I say dive in and embrace the maternity tops. Even if it's early you'll grow into them, and the they're warranted. YOU'RE PREGNANT remember?! Embrace it girl!
I totally have had the spacing issues and the only way I have been able to get around it is to repost. Stupid, I know. I also copy and paste a lot which for some reason never works well on my iMac, or Macbook. So any copying and pasting I have to do, I have to do at work on a PC. I'll be checking out your comments to see if anyone has actual advice on this rather than commiserating like me. =)
Hugs!
Oh, the annoying in-between phase where you don’t fit into your old clothes but you’re not quite ready for maternity clothes either. You’re right- it is a very frumpy phase until you “pop” and it’s obvious that you’re pg and not just bloated. I think I got stuck in that phase for a while.
And YES, I do have that irritating problem with spacing paragraphs, as you’ll notice in my last entry. It’s all one big run-on. I don’t know how to fix it, but let me know if someone gives you good advice!
Happy 12 weeks!
Yippie - 12 weeks!!!
Everytime I look in to my closet, I don't know what to wear! That is a constant problem... and as you said, I am reluctant to buy anything summary!
About the spacing... I seem to like to have a back up for everything, so most of the times I end up typing up my posts in word documents (as a backup)... but it works for the spacing problem. If you copy paste from word document (with two line spacing - hit enter twice - between para's) in to the "edit html" on blogger and then switch to the "compose" format, the spacing sticks around! I know this is crude, but it works... may be some one else has a better solution! :P
Yay for starting your second trimester! As for the spacing issue...this drives me crazy too! I really hope someone out there has a good solution.
Congrats Katie! I hated that in-between stage. I was always self conscious that people thought I just had a big gut from drinking too many beers. It lasted for awhile and it seriously was so annoying! I found there were a lot of tops that weren't even considered maternity ones that worked that had a empire waist line. Those were a life savor. I would love to see a belly shot when you're ready! I hope that even if you aren't posting them here that you are documenting it for yourselves! It's fun to see the changes!
Ugh...sorry about the in-between stage...you just wanna bump out and look preggo already! :o)
I get those dumb spacing issues all the time..sometimes it works if I edit the post and put spaces back in...sometimes it doesn't work. *sigh*
Annoying! :o)
For spacing, I use the edit html feature if blogger is being stupid.
About the shirts - I am huge for how far along I am, and I have been since the beginning. I embraced the fitted tops, because I don't look fat, I just look pregnant. I'm sure you look adorable and not frumpy. We always have a hard time seeing our own bodies properly.
