Gone For The Weekend

We went to a wedding four hours away this weekend and saw many of our old college friends. We made the big facebook announcement a few days ago(which felt odd to do, but I didn't want to show up at the wedding with a belly and steal some of the attention from our friends' big day), so the word was out. The wedding reception was a little like our coming out party, because it was the first time people beyond those we see day to day (like at our jobs) talked with us about expecting twins at length. One of my friends (who was one of my bridesmaids) was so thrilled, throughout the night she touch my stomach 6 times. That marks the first time anyone tried to do that. She also gave us two bouncy chairs and a big bag of diapers, so yay for hand-me-downs! We are slowly starting to accumulate stuff.

Sounds like you had a great time! Yay for hand me downs - I have yet to get anything but with 3 sisters who are mommies I am bound to get a ton of stuff :)

2 of my sisters are already planning my shower in Feb - she's sending out save the date cards... ummm, it's not a wedding! But there will be a ton of out of towners so I can see why she's doing it so early...

How have you been feeling?

I know we are due at the exact same time, I just find ti hilarious how our experiences are so parallel! I just made the facebook announcement on Saturday. And I also felt weird about it, but my belly was outing me anyway and everyone was figuring it out, so I just confirmed it.

I've gotten quite a few belly rubs (and from people who didn't know for sure I was pregnant, they just figured it!), but not as many as I thought I'd get.

get used to the belly rubs..they will get more and more frequent as you grow. :)

that was very considerate of you to announce it beforehand and not take the spotlight away. although im sure your special news was just a bonus for everyone at the wedding. :)

Having people rub your belly must be kinda weird. I guess it's something you gotta get used to. PS- I changed my blog URL to www.pinkadotsgirl.blogspot.com
